Why would he leave us with only half the armor? I mean he's not a democrat in the US congress or white house.

Before anyone gets upset with that, that was tongue in cheek. Our military needs all the equipment to fight this physical battle. And yes, the democratic party is the main obstacle of getting the means to fight to our troops.Timhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01240624055310283596noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4440329089243499006.post-35256875306183053812009-11-08T11:07:53.624-05:002009-11-08T11:07:53.624-05:00"The second coming of the Messiah is the perf..."The second coming of the Messiah is the perfect, where all prophecy and the like will have to cease for the Christ will have brought with Him the answers to all of life's questions. We will then know in full what we only knew in part."

Good Morning Mr. Gozreht,

Just to back you up on this, here is a little exegesis on the I Corintians 13:10.

The word perfection is the Greek word, teleios, which means complete or more specifically, completeness of an age. An example is when a mans life has teleios or has come to its fullness or end. To back this up, the root word for teleios is telos which means the conclusion of an act.

The word comes is the greek word, erchomai which means to come or go. A better way of looking at it in the English is the phrase, "come and gone".

Furthermore and this is where those who interpret G-ds Word will be judged accordingly. The word imperfection does not appear in this verse. Check it out. The interpretors of the NIV included this word as a form of commentary or opinion on what they believe it means.

Commentary or opinion has no place in the word of G-d. Even the Jews knew that and wrote the Talmud and Mishnah which is separate from G-ds Word. Why? Because man and his interpretation could be wrong and will be held accountable according to the truth.

With that said, "...the imperfect disappears." is actually the Greek phrase, "tote he ek meros katargeō" which means "at that time, that which is from before are obsolete and will be rendered useless."

Therefore, I Corinthians 13:10 should honestly read:

"but when this age is complete and has gone and only AT THAT TIME, that which is from before will be obsolete and will be rendered useless."

The age which Paul was talking about is the age which includes all the gifts, the church age.

Has the church age ended? No.

With that said, I recommend the following verse as required reading for those who believe they can pick and choose what gifts are valid for today.

" Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men. And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come. Either make the tree good, and his fruit good; or else make the tree corrupt, and his fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by his fruit.

Matthew 12:31-33

When you say that something is not of G-d, you are saying it is of Satan. Go back and read these verses in context and you'll see what I mean.

Understanding this verse in context was a turning point in my life. The beautiful thing is that those who belittled some of the gifts in the past have done it out of ignorance and not guilty of blasphemy. However, now that they are educated, they have no excuse.

Remember the beautiful Words of the Messiah, "Go and sin no more"

Good post. Tim.

God Bless and Shabbat Shalom.Keithhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11254093786094787764noreply@blogger.com
